The Smithsonian Young Benefactors is a 501 (c)(3) charitable, educational and cultural organization whose mission is to: 1) assist the Smithsonian Institution in the advancement of its fundraising goals, 2) increase public awareness of the aims of the Smithsonian, and 3) establish a foundation for future Smithsonian support.
Young Benefactors Members Enjoy:
Access to 19 Smithsonian museums, behind-the-scenes tours, Second Saturday, exhibit receptions, happy hours, new member dinners, Smithsonian festivals, and annual YB events such as the Young Benefactors Ball and Jolly Holiday party.
Savings on all ticketed YB events; the Smithsonian Resident Associate Program; 10% off at Smithsonian Museum shops and restaurants, the Smithsonian catalogue and SmithsonianStore.com, and commissioned artwork; and discounted parking on the Mall.
Networking with the Smithsonian’s world-renowned curators and scientists and with more than 1,000 of Washington’s brightest young professionals at intimate free monthly events such as our new-member dinners, museum tours, happy hours, plus volunteer opportunities and special events, as a member of the largest museum-based cultural network in the nation’s capital.
A chance to give back to the Smithsonian and the community by raising funds for the Smithsonian to continue to provide dazzling opportunities for intellectual exploration for adults and children, volunteering with the Smithsonian Office of Accessibility and Smithsonian festivals, helping to improve local schools, and providing scholarships to disadvantaged local youth through the YB Culture4Kids Fund.Sign me up to volunteer for a YB committee!
